Aviation Day 2006
On Saturday, Feb. 12, 2006 Chapter 99 hosted their
fourth annual Aviation Day at Vero Beach Airport. The weather was
sunny, but lots of wind. Close to 30 knots sustained with higher
gusts kept a lot of aircraft grounded. A special attraction at this years event were
a B-25 from the Collings Foundation, Miami. The promised B-17 missed
the event because of an engine failure. Still visitors enjoyed looking at various
aircrafts on static display, including
model airplanes and other aviation
related exhibits. There were also military displays, helicopters,
a jet car, fire and rescue trucks and more.
